Halle Bailey and DDG may be ending their romance, but there is no shortage of love.
DDG revealed that he and "The Little Mermaid" star broke up in an emotional statement on social media Thursday.
"After much reflection and heartfelt conversations, Halle and I have decided to go our separate ways," the rapper wrote on his Instagram Story. "The decision was not easy, but we believe it's the best part forward for both of us. I cherish the time we've spent together and the love we shared."
Bailey and DDG, whose real name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., went public with their relationship in March 2022 when the "I'm Geekin" rapper shared a romantic tribute for Bailey’s 22nd birthday on Instagram, per People magazine. The two met through social media after DDG messaged Bailey online, the Chloe x Halle singer revealed in an August 2022 interview with Essence.

"Despite the changes in our relationship, our love for each other remains deep and true," DDG continued. "We are still best friends and adore each other. As we focus on our individual journeys and our roles as co-parents, we cherish the bond we've built and the beautiful moments we've shared."
He concluded: "As we navigate this transition, we ask for your understanding and support."

Halle Bailey talks 'transformative' relationship with DDG
Bailey opened up about her relationship with DDG and the impact on her personal growth in a May 2023 interview with People magazine.
"The best thing about young love is that you're able to continue to find yourself through this journey of loving somebody else," Bailey told the outlet at the time. "I feel like things change when love gets more involved in your life."

Later that year, the couple tapped into their playful side for Halloween by paying tribute to iconic couples in pop culture, such as R&B icons Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown and Janet Jackson and Tupac Shakur in their "Poetic Justice" roles.
"I have definitely discovered more within myself as a woman," Bailey added to People. "It's a really cool thing to go through, but a transformative experience."
